Runa Nawi is a community-based workshop series created to share the tools, skills and resources for our community to be the authors of their own visual stories. Our intention has been to promote creative mediamaking within the Andean indigenous diasporic community and create space to observe, reflect on and discuss self-representations with our own communities and diverse audiences.

The May Sumak film festival is the venue through which that art is shared with the broader community and connected to larger themes and discussions about the Andean indigenous diaspora.
